How It Works

What is the layering system?

The layering system is how most Kovered customers get the best results. The leakproof underwear is your base layer — it sits against the skin and catches drips and small leaks throughout the day. The leakproof trackpants are your outer backup layer — worn over your underwear or over existing protection, they catch anything that gets through before it reaches furniture, bedding, or clothing. Used together, you have two layers of discreet bladder leak protection that both look like normal clothing. You can start with one product and add the second later, or get both together from the bundles page.

Can I use these instead of pull-ups or pads?

Depends on how much you're managing. If leaks are light to moderate — drips after going to the toilet, small leaks during the day — Kovered's washable leakproof underwear can replace disposable pads entirely. Many people make the switch from single-use pads specifically because reusable underwear is more discreet, more comfortable, and far cheaper over time. If you're currently using pull-ups or shaped briefs for heavier leaks or overnight, the leakproof trackpants work alongside your existing protection as a backup layer, not a replacement. Most customers who use pull-ups overnight find the trackpants give them the sheet protection they need without changing what's underneath. You don't have to switch everything at once.

How does Kovered actually work?

Kovered products are washable, reusable bladder leak underwear and trackpants with absorbent layers built directly into the garment. The underwear has built-in absorbent zones that catches drips and keeps moisture away from the skin. The trackpants have a inner waterproof-backed lining that acts as a backup if anything gets through your first layer. You wear them like normal clothing. Nothing to insert, nothing to attach, nothing to adjust. Unlike disposable pads or pull-ups, you wash them and wear them again.

Do I need to wash before first use?

Yes. One wash in cold or warm water before wearing activates the absorbent layers and removes any residue from manufacturing. Skip this and they won't perform correctly on the first wear.

Are these for full bladder emptying?

No. Kovered is designed for drips, leaks, and overflow — not full voids. If you experience full emptying, the trackpants can work as a backup layer worn over your existing protection, but they are not a replacement for pull-ups or shaped briefs in that situation.

Are Kovered products suitable after prostate surgery?

Yes. Kovered's men's leakproof boxer briefs are commonly used by men managing bladder leaks after prostate surgery — including drips after going to the toilet, stress leaks when coughing or lifting, and leaks from an enlarged prostate. They look like regular boxer briefs and hold up to 170mL, independently verified by Intertek. If leaks are heavier in the early weeks after surgery, the leakproof trackpants can be worn over existing protection as a backup layer. Check with your continence health professional about what level of protection is right for your recovery stage.

Are these suitable for bowel leaks as well?

The products are designed primarily for bladder leaks. That said, the waterproof-backed lining in the trackpants provides backup coverage regardless of the source of the leak. If bowel leaks are part of what you're managing, the trackpants as an outer layer can provide meaningful backup protection for clothing and furniture. If you're unsure whether Kovered is right for your specific situation, email us at info@kovered.com.au or speak with your continence health professional.

What’s the difference between Trackies and Underwear?

The underwear — boxer briefs for men, briefs for women — replaces your regular underwear. It catches drips and small leaks directly. The trackpants are an outer backup layer, worn over your underwear or over existing protection. If anything gets through your first layer, the trackpants catch it before it reaches furniture, bedding, or clothing. Most customers use both together as a system.

How much can they hold?

Men's Leakproof Boxer Briefs: independently tested by Intertek — 170mL. Designed for light to moderate male bladder leaks, including drips after going to the toilet and leaks from an enlarged prostate or after prostate surgery. Women's Leakproof Briefs: independently tested by Intertek — 235mL. Designed specifically for bladder leaks in women — not adapted from period underwear. Leakproof Trackpants: independently tested by RMIT — 0.0g of leakage recorded. The outer backup layer for anyone using existing protection underneath. These are third-party lab results, not estimates. In our in-house testing, we estimate the trackies can hold up to 500mL of gradual leaks through the day.

Will anyone be able to tell I’m wearing them?

No. Kovered is discreet bladder leak clothing designed to look exactly like regular underwear and trackpants. No visible padding, no medical silhouette, no crinkle or noise when you move. Nothing that looks different in the wash or hanging on the line. This is one of the most common things people notice first — that they look and feel like normal clothes.

Will the lining make any noise when I walk?

No. There's no crinkle, no rustling, no sound. The waterproof lining in the trackpants is soft-backed and sits inside the fabric. It moves like regular clothing because it's built like regular clothing. This is one of the things people notice first when they try them.

How do I know whether to start with Underwear or Trackies?

If leaks are small and mostly happen during the day, start with the underwear. If leaks are heavier, happen overnight, or you're already using pull-ups or pads and need backup protection for bedding and clothing, start with the trackpants — or get both and use them as a system. The [Find Your Setup] page walks through this if you're still not sure.

Do you have products for women?

Yes. The Women's Leakproof Briefs are designed specifically for bladder leaks — not adapted from period underwear. The Leakproof Trackpants are unisex and work for both men and women. If you're buying for yourself or for a mother, partner, someone you care for, or relative, the [Shop Women] page has the right starting point. The [Find Your Setup] page can also help you work out what combination makes sense.

Can I wear Trackpants without anything underneath?

Yes, though they work best as part of a system. The trackpants are designed to catch overflow, not replace a base layer. If leaks are very light and daytime only, some people wear them over regular underwear. For moderate to heavy leaks, wearing them over the Kovered underwear or over existing protection gives you a full backup layer.

What is the DryBag for?

The Dual-Pocket DryBag has two separate waterproof compartments — one for clean items, one for used. It keeps a spare pair contained if you're out for the day, travelling, or staying somewhere overnight. The Small holds 2 pairs of underwear. The Large holds 4 pairs, or 1 pair of trackpants plus underwear and wipes. The Large comes free with the Day + Night and Full Rotation bundles.

Fit & Sizing

How do I find my size?

Measure your waist and hips in centimetres. Use the size tables on the [Size Guide] page and choose the size that covers your larger measurement. If you're between sizes, size up.

What sizes are available?

Men's Boxer Briefs: S to 4XL. Women's Briefs: S to 2XL. Leakproof Trackpants: S to 2XL, unisex.

Should I size up or down?

Size up. These are designed for a comfortable, everyday fit — not tight or compressive. A larger size still provides full protection.

What if I’m between sizes?

Size up. Always.

What if I’m buying for someone else?

Check the tag on their current underwear or pants for a size in centimetres. Kovered sizing aligns closely with standard Australian sizing. Not sure? Email us at info@kovered.com.au with their measurements and we'll tell you which size to order. No question is too personal.

Shipping, Returns & 30-Day First-Pair Trial

How long does shipping take?

3–7 business days within Australia for standard shipping. Express options are available at checkout.

How much does shipping cost?

$10 flat rate. Free on orders over $149. Free on all bundles.

Is the packaging discreet?

Yes. Orders arrive in plain packaging with no product description or imagery on the outside. The return address shows KVRD and nothing else.

Will anyone know what's inside if someone else is home when it arrives?

No. The outside of the package is completely plain — no product name, no description, no imagery. The return address shows KVRD and nothing else. What's inside is between you and your letterbox.

What is the 30-Day First-Pair Trial?

Try your first pair for 30 days in your normal routine. If it doesn't work for you, email us within 30 days with your order number and whether you'd like a refund or store credit. We'll review within 3–4 business days. No return required.

Does the trial apply if I buy a bundle?

Yes — one item from your first order is covered. If you buy a bundle, you can trial one piece under this guarantee. All other items in the bundle must be unworn with the tag seal intact to qualify for a standard return or exchange.

Do I need to wash before trying my first pair under the trial?

Yes. Wash the item once before wearing — this activates the absorbent layers. A pair that hasn't been washed won't perform correctly on the first wear, so the trial won't give you an accurate result.

How do returns work?

It depends on what you're returning.

First-pair trial: If you've worn your first pair and it's not working for you within 30 days, email info@kovered.com.au with your order number, the item name, and whether you'd like a refund or store credit. No return required. We'll respond within 3–4 business days.

Unworn items: If you haven't worn the item and the tag seal is intact, email us with your order number and we'll arrange an exchange or refund. Return postage is at your cost.

Everything else: Items that have been worn and are outside the 30-day trial window are not eligible for return.

Not sure which category you're in? Just email us. We'll sort it out.

What if I order the wrong size?

If you ordered the wrong size, contact us and we’ll help with the next step. Your first eligible pair is also covered by the 30-Day First-Pair Trial, which gives first-time customers a low-risk way to confirm fit.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Email info@kovered.com.au with your order number and a photo of the damage. We'll sort it out.

Daily Use & Lifestyle

Are they good for sleep or overnight use?

The leakproof trackpants are particularly well-suited for overnight use as a backup layer over existing protection. If anything gets through overnight, the trackpants protect the sheets and bedding. Many customers use the system specifically to reduce or stop 2am sheet changes. The underwear alone handles daytime drips well but works best combined with the trackpants for overnight peace of mind. Both products are washable and reusable, so there's no ongoing cost for overnight protection beyond the initial purchase.

Can I wear them out and about?

Yes. That's the point. They look like regular clothing so there's nothing visible to give it away. Most customers find that having them on makes longer outings less stressful to plan around.

What if I need to change while I'm out?

The Dual-Pocket DryBag is built for this. One waterproof compartment for a spare pair, one sealed compartment to store a used pair until you're home. Fits in a bag, a backpack, or a day bag without taking up much space. Most customers keep one packed and ready to go. If you're out for a full day or travelling, having a spare in a DryBag means you're not planning your whole day around what might happen.

Can I wear them with pads or other protection?

Yes. The leakproof trackpants are specifically designed to work over existing protection — pull-ups, pads, shaped briefs — as overflow backup. If anything gets through your pad or pull-up, the trackpants catch it before it reaches clothing or furniture. The Women's Leakproof Briefs and the Men's Leakproof Boxer Briefs have a double floating crotch layer — slip a pad or a shield in between the two layers and it sits away from your skin and can't shift. No contact, no movement, no bunching. You don't need to change your current routine to start using Kovered — most people add it on top of what they're already doing.

Do I need to change them during the day?

Depends on usage. The underwear holds up to 170mL (men's) or 235mL (women's). Most people find one pair covers a full day of light to moderate leaks. For heavier days, a spare pair in a DryBag means you can change when needed.

Can I wear them while travelling or on a long flight?

Yes. This is one of the most common use cases. The DryBag is designed for exactly this — clean pair in one compartment, somewhere sealed to put a used pair if you need to change. The trackpants give you backup protection for the seat during long travel.

Are they hot or uncomfortable?

The underwear uses soft, breathable, OEKO-TEX and GOTS certified fabrics. The trackpants feel like regular everyday trackpants. Most customers notice no difference in feel compared to a thick cotton clothing once they're on.

Can I use them during my period?

Yes. The Women's Leakproof Briefs are independently tested to hold 235mL — a regular tampon holds around 10mL. The maths speaks for itself. No shifting, no contact with skin, no backup required. They're built for bladder leaks, but they handle periods just as well.

Care & Maintenance

How do I wash them?

Machine wash cold or warm on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. No fabric softener, no bleach, no soaking. Turn inside out before washing. Washing leakproof underwear correctly is what keeps them performing wash after wash — the care routine is simple but it matters. Full instructions are on the [Care Guide] page.

Can I tumble dry them?

Avoid it where possible — heat damages the waterproof lining and absorbent layers over time. Line dry or lay flat for best results. If you're in a hurry, a short spin on a low heat setting is fine to get things started, then move them to the line. Just don't make it a habit. Regular tumble drying will reduce the effectiveness of the layers, and doing it consistently will shorten the working life of the product. Caring for reusable leakproof underwear correctly means they'll last for hundreds of washes.

How long will they last?

With correct care, Kovered products are designed to last through hundreds of washes. Reusable bladder leak underwear has a significantly lower cost per wear than disposable pads or pull-ups — most people find the cost pays for itself within a few months. The two things that degrade them fastest are tumble drying and fabric softener. Avoid both and they'll hold up for a long time.

Do they smell after use?

No more than regular clothing after a normal day. The fabrics are designed to manage moisture. Wash promptly after use and they'll be fine.

How long does it take to dry?

Longer than regular underwear — the absorbent layers hold more moisture and need more time to dry through fully. As a rough guide: around 12 hours on a warm day, up to 24 hours on a cold or humid one. Climate, humidity, and how well your machine spins all make a difference, so treat these as estimates rather than guarantees.

This is why having a spare pair on rotation is a good idea. You're not waiting on the one pair you own.

The trackpants take a similar amount of time due to the waterproof lining — overnight in warm conditions is usually enough, longer in the cold.

Why can’t I use fabric softener?

Fabric softener coats the fibres and reduces absorbency over time. It also degrades the waterproof lining in the trackpants. One wash with softener won't cause immediate damage, but regular use will shorten the product's lifespan.

Where can I find the full care guide?

You can find the full care guide on the Kovered Care Guide page. Here is the link: Care Guide - How to Wash Leakproof Underwear & Trackies | Kovered
